Apeldoorn & Gelderland
Apeldoorn is host city of the 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships. The city is located in the heart of the Veluwe, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Netherlands. Besides beautiful nature you will find various cultural hotspots in and around Apeldoorn, such as the CODA Museum and Het Loo Palace.
Apeldoorn is located in the province of Gelderland. It is the largest province in the Netherlands, with Apeldoorn, Arnhem and Nijmegen as main cities. The province is characterized by the great nature and culture. Among others, Openair Museum Arnhem, the Kröller-Muller Museum and Museum Het Valkhof can be found here.
Gelderland is a popular cycling region. With Omisport, the province of Gelderland and the municipality of Apeldoorn also have access to a multifunctional indoor sports centre. It is the only location in the Netherlands where European and World Championships track cycling and indoor athletics may be held.
